 An open letter to the elite and the Diaspora of the Somalis people of descents of the Ogaden region and as well the movement and the policymakers of ONLF. By Basher Abdulqadir

It is a great pleasure for me to have this great opportunity to draw my interest and state my standpoint towards a burning issue, which is a controversial and directly influences each person among citizens of this region in the Diaspora.
As we might know some of the top news in recent weeks regarding this region (ogaden, Somali galbeed, SNRS) was the message of the elders and elite�s peace initiative, their travel purpose in some parts of Europe and north America was to deliver their unsurprised peace initiative to the community and the movement as well, their goal is to bridge the gap between the movement (ONLF) and the government of Ethiopia to bring a last long peace in the region, Let their voice be heard. These elders are the driving forces and icon to a last long peace initiative, they truly symbolize the people�s will in this region and deserve to respect their agenda regardless of whatsoever comes in to our minds, unfortunately am not a politician but a concerned citizen and wouldn�t hesitate to share my aspiration with them to make this region a prosperous and a peaceful one that enjoys peace with rest of other regions of Ethiopia.
In our modern days, a constructive issue is overpowering among nations that has been put forward the idea of globalization, to connect the whole globe in order to make like one region, but the point is, this world deserves integration among nations and peoples despite of their differences.
States outside world, perhaps you would discover a country with different religion, different ethnic group, diverse tribes and languages, a typical ones for instance is Nigeria, South Africa, they have a common ground and interest that led them to a productive and sustainable development in their own countries, in terms of education, health, infrastructures, and so on, the main barrier of every nation�s ambition in a growth is the lack of peace.
The people of this region (ogaden, Somali galbeed, SNRS) has suffered enough through the wars it has experienced and benefited nothing, we need some sort of solution that works for the people, I mean in a manner that suits the interest of the people, which the basic principle is a peace, to tackle the standoff and ease the situation, Some people may denounce my standpoint and declare to refer this article as an inconsistent, certainly, you may disagree with me, but we have a common interest, which is to uplift the livelihood of the people in this region, We need a change to make the livelihood of the people of this region much better than this.
We, the Diaspora of descents of this region very much enthusiastic and argue all of you to participate the great work initiated by our elders and take part the development process-taking place in the region, to engage development programs alleviating the livelihood of the suffering people and join together to maker a difference and transform.
