With the increase of the tribal conflicts and injustices in the Somali State of Ethiopia combine with the lack of stability and security, the need for the maintenance of peace and the promotion of social justice become important than never before. To protect the lives and maintain the coexistence of all Somali tribes and at the same time preserve the security and social justice in the State, we must not allow the tendencies and practices that seek to undermine peace and deny justice.
We, as conscious Somalis, focused and determined to speak out against hatred and injustice, will do everything humanly possible to take Somali Regional State to higher heights in terms of peaceful coexistence among its peoples and unbiased dispensation of justice. In this direction, we have organized a vibrant and efficient entity called, Somali Peace and Justice Center (SPJC).
The primary objectives of SPJC shall include but not be limited to the following:
1.Liaise with the justice system to ensure that the rights of all individuals are respected and upheld irrespective of their political, social, and background; 2. Work closely with all concerned to ensure that peace and justice are secured; 3. Initiate programs and activities that will depict civilized methods in seeking recourses to grievances; 4. Proactively and reactively address issues of security concern that have the inclination to incite chaos, injustice and war.
Somali Peace and Justice Center is a not-for-profit and non-partisan political movement that will be mindful of the ideas of community leaders, elders and the citizenry in the dispensation of its activities. SPJC will however seek to objectively speak out against those tendencies, characteristics and practices that will tend to undermine peace and the application of equitable justice in Somali State.
In this endeavor, the Somali Peace and Justice Center (SPJC) will make it a certain reality to work closely with all other non-partisan advocacy groups, EGAD, the United States Government, the EU and the United Nations in the realization of its objectives.
