Ethiopian students in Ryadh lash out at CUD leadership
26/11/2024 (WIC) - Addis Ababa,November 26,2005-Natives of the Somali regional state who are following their studies in Ryadh have denounced what they described as a destructive move by extremests in the CUD leadership. They said these extremists have motives to weaken the unity of the nations, nationalities and peoples in the country as well as to dismantle the constitutional system.
The Ethiopians learning at the King Sawd and Imam Universities expressed support to the activities of the Government to bring the orchestrators of the street violence to justice, and thereby to ensure the supremacy of the law. They expressed their support during a meeting they held on current issues in the country, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told ENA on Friday quoting the Ethiopian Embassy in Ryadh.
The Ministry's press statement said the participants of the meeting also denounced the activities of those CUD cliques in the Diaspora who they said are on the move with their dream to cut Ethiopia off foreign aid, and thereby to see Ethiopians suffer more from poverty.
They urged those tabloids in circulation in Ethiopia as well as the Amharic program producers of the VOA and Duetche Welle to stop serving as mouthpiece of the CUD and refrain from reports that promote disharmony and conflict in Ethiopia.
They meanwhile vowed to work closely with the Embassy in the efforts to promote investment, tourism and trade in Ethiopia.
