Ethiopia: Germany Donates 2.2 Mln Birr for Drought in Gode.

The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany has donated a total amount of 2, 200, 000Birr (close to 200,000 Euro) to the NGO, Adventist Development and Relief Agency, Germany (ADRA), for its implementation of a relief project in Gode Zone of the Somali National Regional State, the German Embassy in Addis Ababa disclosed in a press release sent to The Daily Monitor on Monday.

According to the Embassy, the project would supply food-aid to some 13, 000 inhabitants of the area, most seriously affected by the ongoing drought.

The embassy also said special attention would be given to undernourished children, lactating mothers and pregnant women in the said region.

"Through this contribution the German Government continues its efforts to respond to the humanitarian situation in southern Ethiopia," the embassy said in the press release said.
