Zimbabwe: Incoming Envoys Present Credentials To President
INCOMING ambassador from Ethiopia yesterday presented his credential to President Mugabe at State House.
Ethiopian Ambassador Mr Abdi Dolal Mohamed spoke to the journalist after he presented his credential to Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, Mr Mohamed said relations between Zimbabwe and Ethiopia were "very special and unique as they started prior to (Zimbabwe's) independence."
He said possible areas of co-operation between the two countries were trade, education and culture.
Commenting on the May parliamentary elections in Ethiopia whose outcome was disputed by some of the political parties, Mr Mohamed said the polls were free and fair.
He said initially, there were complaints about the election results, but this was resolved amicably and the opposition was now working with the ruling party in parliament.
The election results were delayed by two months with violent protests rocking the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, in the aftermath.
Mr Mohamed has more than eight years experience in diplomatic service and before being posted to Zimbabwe, he was Ethiopia's Ambassador to Yemen.
