Addis Ababa: Over 4,500 educators to receive training in Somali state
The Somali Education Bureau disclosed that it would launch a month long training to education professionals so as to provide quality education in the state.
Education Programs Head with the Bureau, Ahmed Hassen, told WIC recently that 4,540 directors, supervisors, civic and ethical education teachers will take part in the training to begin next Thursday.
Preparations have been finalized to begin the training in Gode and Jijjiga towns with the technical support provided by the Ministry of Education and six million birr budget earmarked by the regional government.
According to Ahmed, the training would help produce active and responsible citizens.
Meanwhile, female enrollment in the state has jumped by 18.3 percent, he said, attributing the success to the empowerment of exemplary women in the state and the support rendered to female students.
Efforts are also well underway to increase primary education among the pastoralist community through basic alternative education and presently the overall education coverage of the state has reached 29.6 percent, the Head concluded.
